Gold Coast, Australia Spring 2011: Day 7 Dream World
Friday, February 10, 2012
Where was i on my last Aussie post? .. oh yes we finally arrived in Gold Coast! On the day we reached Gold Coast it was already noon and we were tired from the early flight and getting from the airport to the apartment and we decided to take it easy, chill on the first day and start our theme park madness on the next day.
Why do i say theme park madness? Lol i think sometimes we get so excited and caught up with planning our trip we overpacked our schedule and really tire ourselves out. We were going to >>>
Day 2 Dream world
Day 3 White Water World
Day 4 Full day Moreton Islands Snorkeling/sandboarding/4WD tour
Day 5 Movie World
CRAZY OR WHAT! Lol, it's no wonder we all fell ill during the trip, not so sick to the extend that popping panadol wouldn't help thou, luckily i'm always "well armed" with a big pack of diahhear, vomitting, fever, motion sickness pills haha
Started our day early, woke up to prepare, had cereal and M&M choc cookies that sam baked early in the morning. Then off we go on the road with Sam behind the wheels and google maps guiding us to a whole day of fun at Dream World!
Finally the weather is getting warmer here in Gold Coast! So nice to enjoy getting some sun after freezing my ass off for the past 5 days in Sydney. Seeing this picture makes me miss my red hair!
Crazy looking heart-shaped roller coaster which wasn't ready! Booooo, that would be NUTS and i so wanna go on that!
Before we came over to australia we have already bought our World Pass online, the promotion then was AUD70 for 2 theme parks, Dream World & White Water World.
You can get the World Pass here: http://shop.dreamworld.com.au/
I'd recommend you to get your tickets online to enjoy the discount plus you wouldn't have to queue THAT long to get your tickets!
Even at the online purchase queue we had to wait for abit so the normal queue was much worst!
OH HEY CLOWN!
White water world (which we will be going to the very next day) is just located beside Dream World, it's weird but i personally find white water world better and much more fun than Dream World, the rides at Dream World are not really scary enough hahaha, maybe because i've actually seen Gold Coast marketed as a fun, crazy theme park filled place.. so my expectations was higher?
Woohoo WipeOut! Sam and I went on this ride but Jess didn't want to cos there was sooooo much 360 degree flips on this one.
Coming down the ride with jelly legs. haha
Lol anyway there's this arcade area in the theme park and they played this funny horsey game and i had a go at it too. No-shit this was damn tiring! If i did this everyday i'd probably had some crazy bulging thigh muscles.
The best ride in the whole of Dream World is probably the Tower of Terror II!
We queued for the ride and got on the coaster in an enclosed area and we pretty much didn't know what to expect.. but the coaster shoots BACKWARDS REALLY REALLY REALLY FAST ...
.. UP HERE WHERE IT WAS HIGH ENOUGH TO SEE THE ENTIRE PARK! We got shot up backwards SO fast, i can't even decide the going up park was worst or the shooting downwards part! hahahahah madness
Sam's favorite, Tiger Island!
We got there in time to sit around the cafe for a drink and then the Tiger Show started!
Awwww, Tiger 1 getting a treat.. sipping milk from a carton! How cute is that!!
I didn't know tigers could do that thou.. so i guess next time when you meet a wild tiger.. up a tree is not really the way to go!
Scary! They threw the meat upwards and the tigers launched up and grabbed it straight in midair. Jess was wondering why won't they nom one of the caretakers (the super meaty dude).
Lol they have a Wiggleland at Dream World, apparently all the kids are nuts about them these days. I didn't even know they existed hahaha
Ewwwwww. hahaha he was getting super near for a shot and it suddenly took off and ran towards Jess & my direction and we screamed and ran. :x
End of the day in Dream World!
Gorgeous sunset at the carpark while we were getting to our rented car.
Byeeeeee dreamworld! ♡
Drove back to our apartment in Surfer's Paradise and went to the main beach for the beach markets
Bought beef jerky from one of the stalls, it was homemade beef jerky and it's soooooo good i want more of them!
After the beach market, quite alot of interesting things to see actually.. we asked around for directions and went to Infinity, http://www.infinitygc.com.au/about-infinity.html
What is it about:
Infinity is a mind blowing journey into spectaculat, futuristic maze like worlds of wonder - an extraordinary series of around 20 multi-sensual environments filled with unique special effects, atmospheric sound fields, ultra groovy music and illusions that appear to go all the way to infinity!
The first of its kind in the world, INFINITY is an exciting, hilarious, interactive experience with unforgettable impact. The incredible INFINITY journey takes around 40 minutes.
LOL! we were asked to wear these white gloves and white wrap on our shoes.
OH HHHHHHHHHIIII~
Little sneak peek on what's going on in there.
I guess this would be great fun for a bunch of crazy friends. hahah there were funny crazy stuff in there but some rooms were pretty scary too hahaha
I think i really enjoyed this hahaha especially one of the maze rooms called the wobby room. Very very fun. I think jess and i fell a couple of times but it was so hilarious we couldn't stop laughing. Felt like a nutty kid all over again.
♡ Love, The Luckiest Chick.
